THE WORLD FILLING SPACE

THEWORLDFILLINGSPACE

finding feeling frail
afraid of the silence

where there is no room for silence
there can be no listening
and so
no hearing of the heart,
its comforting secrets

~the silent yearning~

a world in heartbreak
deaf to its suffering
blind to its callousness

where is the space
to hear
that silent heart
that beats alone
yet lives
in all

STILL

Enchanting Forest” by Johannes Plenio/ CC0 1.0

This thick forest of darkness

still smells of pine

still hosts the sparrows and hawks

history lies underfoot and softens the tread of those who walk today

still remains a silence that speaks

of the dead and gone

or from the dead and lost

or for my heart

that feels you here

I do find you here

in my heart

and there in the silence

and everywhere I walk

If there were words..

there are no words

I hear no words

I have no words

There’s just the weight of your absence

What is the heaviness?

The gravity that overcomes?

The lack of will?

It teaches me

be here

be still

It is as if by being still

I can be where you are

where you are still

LET LIFE FIND YOU

let LIFE find you

it’s older and larger than you

and has seen so much more

it knows where you live

and right where you belong

you look for what you hunger for

everywhere but here and now

we forget to remember

that here is where we will

find what we need

what does it mean to trust life?

enjoy this now

and life will tap you on the shoulder

ask you to stop and listen

and you will hear your heart

INNER SPACE

The world filling space

finding feeling frail

afraid of the silence

full of feeling unfelt

Where there is no room for silence

there can be

no listening, and so

no hearing of the heart

Its comforting secrets hidden

and lost

yet longed for

The silent yearning

a world in heartbreak

deaf to its suffering

blind to its callousness

drowning in distractions

designed to distance

the ache

and blessings

of our silent eternal heart

Where is the space

to hear

the silent heart

that beats

alone

yet lives

(in us all)

drowned out by the din?

DEEP

When the word is spoken

it has traveled long

and come from deep within life

these words live

as an expression of this life-not just yours

but gratefully through you

weaving you into the fabric of life

from which you have come

and will return to

these precious words

bring you home

closer and closer

to this larger life

in and out

of the deep water of life

carrying your messages

to the surface

where the sky

reflects us all

IF

If you can be still

you can listen

If you can listen

.

you can hear

.

If you can hear

you can feel

.

If you can feel

You can know and comfort yourself

.

If you can know and comfort yourself

you feel can feel connected

.

If you feel connected

you can empathize

.

.

if you CAN be still

you can choose where to put your attention

.

If you realize you can choose where to put your attention

you can also choose to practice deciding or not

.

If you practice deciding where to put your attention

you will learn what it feels like to be more integrated

.

If you discover that you enjoy feeling integrated

you will no longer feel the need to push yourself

.

If you no longer need to push yourself

you simply need to remember what you want

.

If you learn to remember what you want*

you will feel more gentleness, ease and peace

.

If you feel more gentleness, ease and peace

the world will feel like your home, your friend and your teacher

* “Discipline is simply remembering what you want.” — attributed to many voices
